The minimum entry requirements for BSc. AGED degree are:
a) Grade C+ at the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with the folowing minimum grades in indicated subjects:
i) Agriculture C+
ii) Biology C + or Biological Science B-
iii) Chemistry C+ or Physical Sciences B
iv) Mathematics or Physics or Geography C+
v) English/Kiswahili C+

OR
A holder of diploma with credit or above in Agricultural Education or related field from a college
or University recognized by Machakos University. A holder of Diploma with Pass must have at least two years’ work experience in relevant field to qualify for admission.

To be admitted into the Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management and Trade, a student must satisfy following entry requirements.
i) Be a holder of KCSE certificate with a minimum aggregate of C+ (plus) and a C (plain) in Mathematics OR Biology/Agriculture/Geography/Business Studies; OR
ii) Be a holder of KACE certificate with a minimum of two principal passes and a minimum of a credit pass in Mathematics at KCE; OR
iii) Be a holder of KSCE with a minimum of a two-year Diploma (with credit and above) in Agribusiness Management, Farm Management, Horticulture, Animal Production, Agriculture, Business Management or equivalent qualifications from MksU or institutions recognized by MksU Senate; OR
iv) Be a holder of C- (minus) at KCSE and progressed from certificate to Diploma at Machakos University or any other recognized/accredited Institutions. The qualifications in the diploma program should fulfil the criteria in (3) above; OR

v) A holder of any other qualification accepted by the University Senate as equivalent to 1, 2, 3 and 4 above.
